Start times: 10:30am, 5:00pm
Join your host Hind at her parent's traditional Moroccan kitchen to learn to cook an authentic Moroccan meal from recipes that Hind has perfected over the years. In your hands-on cooking class you will learn to make two to three dishes from scratch in your host’s kitchen. Your Moroccan cooking lesson will last about two and a half hours. Learn to cook an authentic tajine, zalouk (eggplant salad) or taktouka (a zesty dip of cooked tomatoes and roasted peppers) and meat or vegetable couscous. If there is anything in particular you would like to learn, feel free to ask Hind ahead of time. After cooking you will sit down at the dining table to share the meal you helped prepare with Hind.

More about Hind

A Marrakech native, Hind grew up in a riad in Marrakech’s Medina (old quarter)! A warm and friendly host, Hind grew up with a big family and because her mother worked night shifts, Hind and her sister would cook her mother’s recipes for their family. Through trial and error, she perfected her mother’s recipes and now loves to cook for friends and family. Hind finds cooking to be relaxing and fun! When she tries food at restaurants that she thinks could taste better she recreates it at home in the way she thinks it ought to be. Hind loves dancing, traveling and working with her hands – she is a pro at taking vintage products and repurposing them. Enjoy an immersive Moroccan culinary experience with a local!

"A great hotel, very friendly staff, everything clean and well-appointed, you feel very comfortable, like a welcome guest. The breakfast buffet is unique; nothing is missing, no matter what your cravings. The value for money is right; you'll be happy to return."

"Hind is a wonderful, hospitable host who made feel right at home. The meal we prepared was a simple, Moroccan staple. She taught me well and I can’t wait to try the dish with my family when I return home."

"We recommend the personal experience of cooking in Hind's home. Hind was a good teacher, very accommodating, and a delight. The only negative was that we spent nearly no time in the market and got very little out of that experience in comparison to other market cooking classes we have participated in. Cooking at home was fun and different than other classes we have taken, Large group classes are largely about the performance. This is about the intimacy of cooking, chopping, measuring, and getting to know someone you would not meet otherwise. We learned about cooking a lamb and vegetable tajine, Bastilla, and several salads. It was a feast with wine. Come hungry. Hind sent us the recipes for what we cooked and more after we left. Its a great change for the typical cooking class. Also, Hind spoke English well. It took about 5 hours"

"Our host Hind was really wonderful --she was very welcoming, and cooked a delicious meal for us. It was great to see a different part of town and spend some time in a Moroccan home. It was interesting to watch her cook using traditional methods. While we enjoyed our time, we were a bit disappointed however that we didn't get to do much cooking ourselves. We would recommend this experience for people who want to taste a home-made meal but not for people who want to learn how to cook a meal."
