Pea lives with her son, Jah, in a beautiful traditional teak home surrounded by lush gardens in Chiang Mai. She began cooking at the age of 12, helping her mother shop at the local market each morning. As the first daughter and fourth child in the family, Pea learned early how to choose the freshest ingredients and how quality and seasonality shape the flavor of every dish. Her creativity in the kitchen is legendary—she can even get her sons to enjoy bitter gourd, a vegetable most children avoid! “In our family, as soon as we finish one meal, we’re already thinking about the menu for the next.
