Chef Jekky or Anne will pick you up from your central Chiang Rai hotel and take you to a vibrant local market. There, you’ll learn how to choose the freshest ingredients while discovering unique Thai vegetables, herbs, and spices. After picking up your ingredients, you’ll head to their professional cooking studio to begin your hands-on Chiang Rai cooking class. During your Thai cooking class, you’ll prepare about two to three authentic Thai dishes. No matter your skill level, you’ll leave with new cooking techniques, cultural insights, and a deeper appreciation for Thai cuisine. A few popular dishes that you might learn to cook are tom yum (hot and sour Thai soup), pad kra pao (spicy Thai basil chicken) or larb (Thai meat salad), and Mango Sticky Rice. Chef Jekky and Anne have mastered a wide variety of traditional Thai dishes and are happy to customize the menu, just let them know your preferences in advance when booking your experience.

This Thai cooking class in Chiang Rai is ideal for anyone who wants to learn how to cook authentic Thai food, explore local culture, and enjoy an unforgettable culinary adventure in northern Thailand.

What others are saying

"Jekky's cooking experience is one of a kind. You cook on a clay cookstove as opposed to an appliance, which is definitely a unique experience. Her home is located very close to the BTS but off the main road, so it does feel like a local, Thai home. Jekky is a lot of fun. It was super easy to connect with her and feel comfortable and relaxed while cooking her delicious favorites. Jekky's home is also a guesthouse, so at times there will be people popping in and out of her home. Her home is not air-conditioned, but she does have a few fans. Overall, it was a great cooking class and day, and by the end of the class we had so much food we didn't know what to do with it!"

"Jekky is a kind, cheerful host. Very down to earth! Her English is great and we were really happy with our experience learning from her. Jekky's food was, of course, amazing. We made 5 different dishes. Jekky listened to our requests for the dishes of our choice. We were able to experience purchasing ingredients at the market (which is overwhelming if you are not used to shopping there!) Jekky's place is very homey. Be prepared to experience Thai culture and living! We helped prepared the ingredients and Jekky showed us how to cook each dish. It was very engaging and interactive and Jekky certainly knows her stuff about Thai cooking! We made more than enough food for everyone and the dessert was beautiful. All of us were stuffed by the time we finished! Highly recommend this experience and our lovely host, Jekky!"

"Jekky's fried chicken deserves the accolades! It was super tasty, and really easy to make. Unfortunately, beyond her fried chicken, the other dishes we made fell a little flat. We had booked this class hoping to discuss the menu with Jekky and figure out some interesting things to cook. However, the discussion felt very one sided. After we communicated that we wanted to cook things that she enjoys cooking and eating, that we wanted to learn the food that regular Thai people make day to day, Jekky responded "what do you want to cook?" without answering our questions or giving recommendations."
