Join Jessica, a certified French wine scholar and ex-cheesemonger, for a two-hour private wine, cheese and charcuterie tasting experience in Toulouse, in a private tasting room of one of her favorite local wine shops! Learn about France’s AOC system and the concept of terroir (a taste of place) from your host Jessica. You will open bottles of wine from the region and pair them with luscious, artisanal charcuterie selection, seasonal cheeses from Toulouse’s best fromagerie and bread from Jessica's favorite boulangerie. You will enjoy 4 bottles of local wines including a sparkling, dry white, and two reds. Jessica pairs your wine tasting with artisanal cheeses and breads from one of the best local cheese shops and bakeries, respectively, in Toulouse. Taste special grape varieties such as mauzac, negrette, tannat, or gros manseng that are rarely grown outside of SW France. Explore the factors that go into wine and cheese pairings – what works, what doesn’t, and how to do it on your own!
Notes
The tasting room table is standing height, so you’ll be on your feet (though, a few chairs are provided, if needed). A minimum of four people is required to make this private booking. Jessica can accommodate a gluten-free or a pork-free cheese/charcuterie platter if you let her know at least 48 hours in advance.

More about Jessica

Toulouse is the headquarters for Airbus and when Jessica saw how overwhelmed travelers were at the markets because there were no English speaking tours, she decided to start one! Jessica believes that local businesses form the heart and soul of communities! When she traveled she sought out small local artisans and businesses because she loved their entrepreneurial energy. A third generation blueberry farmer from Michigan, Jessica moved to Toulouse in 2017 because she fell in love with Toulouse and its terroir, a taste of place. She found the people of Toulouse to be the kindest and most welcoming people and formed a company to help other people fall in love with Toulouse the way she did!
